New rules on testing and quarantine in the UK from 15 February 2021
New border restrictions for passengers travelling to the UK come into effect from Monday 15 February 2021.
From Monday, all passengers travelling to the UK must:
- Provide proof of a negative coronavirus test taken no more than 3 days before departure. The results must be in English, French, or Spanish
- Have completed a Passenger Locator Form
- Quarantine for 10 days on arrival
- Have booked a Travel test package from a government approved supplier before departure. This costs £210 and includes a mandatory coronavirus test on days 2 and 8 of quarantine. The booking portal for packages hasn’t launched yet, but passengers will be able to use the link below to book in the coming days
Any passengers who do not comply with these regulations will be refused travel.

UK Border Force officers will also check that passengers haven’t visited a red list country in the previous 10 days. If they have visited a country on the list, they’ll be refused travel. British and Irish nationals and UK residents will be instructed to fly to the UK from a designated airport. France, Belgium, and the Netherlands are not included on the red list at the time of writing. Find out more about travel from red list countries >
